Las Vegas, NV — The National Small Business Association (NSBA) announced today it is supporting Senator John Ensign’s re-election because of his dedication to keeping taxes low and advancing pro-growth policies that stregthen the backbone of our economy — small businesses.

“Senator Ensign has demonstrated his commitment to protect the well-being and advancement of small business,” said Todd McCracken, President of NSBA.  “We want Nevadans to know that John Ensign has served as an advocate for small businesses by fighting for them on Capitol Hill.”

Since being elected to the Senate in 2000, Ensign has remained a leading advocate for reducing the burdensome regulations on small businesses, including the need for a simpler tax code.  Senator Ensign supports Association Health Plans which would allow small businesses to band together and draw on the same leverage used by large companies to offer affordable health care.  This plan would greatly reduce the number of uninsured Americans because many people without insurance work for small businesses that simply cannot afford it on their own.

“Throughout Nevada and across the United States, small businesses keep our economy moving forward.  I will continue to fight for lower taxes, less duplicative regulation and more pro-growth policies so our small businesses can grow and create jobs,” said Ensign, who owned a small business in Las Vegas.  “Having the support of the National Small Business Association is an honor, and I appreciate their endorsement.”

NSBA was founded in 1937 to advocate for the interests of small businesses in the United States.  Today the association has grown to represent more than 150,000 small businesses.
