Washington, D.C. – Senator John Ensign made this statement following the death of former Nevada State Senator Lawrence “Jake” Jacobsen:

“I am saddened by the death of Senator Jacobsen, but I am inspired by the long and productive life he lived. He served our nation and our great state in many capacities and will always be a model of the type of citizen we should strive to be. From his Navy days and bravery at Pearl Harbor, to his exemplary service in our state legislature, to his commitment to a multitude of community organizations, Senator Jacobsen will always hold a special place in the hearts of Nevadans.”
