On the Fourth of July, we celebrate as a nation our independence and the freedoms that our Founding Fathers secured for us. But they were not alone. Throughout our history, brave men and women have risked and sacrificed on battlefields here and abroad so that we can be free 230 years later. And while today is a celebration of the fruits of their labor, it is always a fitting time to remember our veterans and fallen heroes.

We live in the greatest nation in the world during a time when others are struggling for the independence we enjoy. Our nation has always been and continues to be engaged in an effort to bring these liberties to others due to the principle that the best way to preserve our freedom is to sow the seeds of freedom around the world. For the men and women fighting for our freedom and security today, you have our greatest appreciation and respect.  God bless you, and God bless America.
